Now that my first child is one year old and my second is on the way, I want to give you some insight into 6 Must Haves on Your Amazon Baby Registry to support your baby’s development from day one. I am all about PRACTICAL and AFFORDABLE, so these items on your Amazon baby registry will be just that! I have used all of these products A LOT with my first child and will continue to use with my second, so let’s dive in!

Number 1: Tummy time wedge, pillow, or boppy

Tummy time is a HUGE deal for your new baby and you can begin to complete this from day one. This is why a tummy time wedge, pillow or boppy, like the ones shown here, are important to include in your Amazon baby registry. You can, of course, complete tummy time directly on the floor or on your chest from day one, but propping your baby’s chest elevated on a wedge, boppy or pillow will encourage head control, tolerance in this activity, and more enjoyment. This elevated position will also allow your baby to view toys in front more easily from an early age due to their limited neck strength and their ability to only see items at a very close distance. The Tum Tum wedge was created by a physical therapist and is a great item to use with your baby from birth and beyond! Infantino makes a WONDERFUL tummy time pillow that can grow with baby to encourage sidelying and sitting as they develop, but using a boppy if you are breastfeeding works well also. One of these items is ESSENTIAL to tummy time tolerance early on! Find these items here! Pair this product with my Tummy Time Tolerance and Head Control course and you will be prepared for this activity with your brand new baby!

Number 2: Bath seat

Bath time is always SO sweet and there are SO many bath seat options. From the day your baby’s umbilical cord falls off, you can begin to bathe your baby in the sink or tub. Early in infancy, and until approximately the 6 month mark, your baby will need to lay down to bathe because they are unable to sit independently. At this age, a reclined bath seat, like the Fisher Price option below is good for baby to be relax and reclined during bath time. This also allows you, the parent, to free both hands and bathe or play with your baby during this time. This reclined bath seat was a great option for our large farmhouse sink. We did not use this seat once our baby could sit up. We decided to purchase the suctioned bath seat after our baby could sit and we use this every single night. This was a wonderful alternative to a free standing tub seat that baby could climb out of. We place our baby in this bath seat, making sure the sides are suctioned properly and our baby is able to splash and play as much as he desires. The depth of this seat is adjustable, so this seat can support a child that is still learning to sit completely independently. Both of these products were well loved in our household with our first child and will be well loved with the second as well. You can find them here!

Number 3: Ergobaby 3 in 1 highchair

Self feeding and introducing solids is another sweet time you will share with your baby. So you need the gear! There are SO MANY highchairs on the market, and initially we did not have this Ergobaby chair. When our baby was first starting solids and using a highchair, we used the Graco 7-in-1. I found this chair particularly difficult to clean, so we opted to switch to the Ergobaby option. The Ergobaby 3-in-1 highchair is SO easy to clean and can turn into a kitchen helper when your baby grows. This Ergobaby highchair is also so easy to store, folding up very simply with the push of two buttons the the side. This design is also very sleek and clean looking which is ascetically pleasing for your household. We began to use this highchair with our baby around 9 months, once he was a very stable sitter. We will continue to use this highchair until he is ready to transition to a booster! Find this highchair linked here!

Number 4: UPSEAT

The UPSEAT is another self-feeding seat that can be used as early as your baby is showing stable head control. The UPSEAT was developed by a pediatric physical therapist and is a GREAT sitting device for baby. The UPSEAT includes exceptional lateral and back support for baby, helping baby sit taller and more stable in this seat. When we began solids with our baby, he was not stable in a regular highchair. We found he sat stably and well in the UPSEAT during self feeding, so this is the seat we used initially during mealtimes. This seat also includes a large tray so there is plenty of surface area during the feeding session. This seat can also be hooked to a standard dining chair, which is nice to get baby involved during mealtime with adults. We also used this seat in play to change things up once our baby began to prop sit around the 5 month mark. This seat was great in keeping our baby entertained with various suctioned toys and manipulatives during his wake window. We still use this seat at this age when we are not using the standard highchair and this seat is GREAT for taking on-the-go out of town. Number 5: Self feeding items

More self feeding items for your Amazon baby registry because starting solids happens quickly with our babies and we have to be prepared! When starting solids with your baby, the amount of items needed and various options can be overwhelming. There are 4 products that we can’t live without when it comes to self feeding with our son: silicon bibs, bib capes, silicon utensils, and straw cups! These items not only prepared our baby to begin solids around the 6 month mark, but also continue to encourage his development and growth throughout his infancy. Silicon bibs are AMAZING because they include a pocket that catches any spillage (which is COMMON) easily. Bib capes are a close second to the bibs because the cape is amazing in covering the baby’s whole torse so clothing remains clean throughout the duration of the meal. Plus, both of these items, the bibs and the capes, are SO easy to clean. I simply rinse and toss these in the dishwasher. It’s amazing! I also recommend placing silicon utensils on your Amazon baby registry. The utensils you choose for your baby need to have an easily grasped handle and large spout so baby can learn to use these items independently after practice. These items are wonderful in encouraging your baby to scoop and self feed themselves (with lots of help at first) with a utensil. Lastly, I LOVE straw cups for baby, particularly the Talk Tools honey bear cup. This cup is great in encouraging your baby to drink out of a straw. I say skip the sippy when transitioning from a bottle because drinking from a straw encourages mature oral motor skills and is practical as your baby continues to grow past infancy.

Number 6: Push walker

This may seem strange to add to your Amazon baby registry because your baby isn’t going to be walking for awhile… but this item can be used in SO MANY ways with your baby through the first year. Depending on your style, there are tons of push walker options. I do recommend choosing an option with bright colors, lights, or high contrast components if you wish to use with your baby in early infancy. Push walkers are, in my opinion, the most bang for your buck because you can use this toy in tummy time, in sidelying play, for sitting development, crawling preparatory play, and of course, standing and walking. Check out this post on my Instagram about the many ways to use a push walker through the first year. Many push walkers also include a detachable front, so the item can be taken off and used in floor time play. When using this in early infancy, position the walker in front of baby and manipulate the items or turn on the lights so baby is encouraged to look up in tummy time. This is HUGE in developing head control. You can also position this walk at an angle between your baby’s legs to encourage core strength and upright sitting skills. Plus your baby will be so excited to manipulate the items in this new upright position. Once your baby is pulling to stand, unlock the brakes on the walker and let baby explore! They will love pushing this walker around the house following you wherever you go! Shop our household favorite V-tech walker here.

I hope you leave this post feeling a little more informed about what items you should place on your Amazon baby registry to support your baby’s growth and development! More registry must haves to come so keep an eye out for another post and follow along with me on Instagram! Shop all products discussed here on my Amazon Storefront!
